“Home of the Stars” isn’t a phrase that comes to mind for most people when they think of Mississippi, but no other place of this size has produced such a quantity, quality, and diversity of artistic leaders. The Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Center (MAEC) will demonstrate just how great the impact of our state is on the world’s art and culture.
With a heritage that ranges from William Faulkner to Elvis Presley, today’s Mississippi artists are among the world’s most well-loved and respected talents in fields like music, literature, drama, dance, and visual arts. These individuals are ambassadors for our state and its culture, and the MAEC will be a place to honor them as well as their predecessors. In its beautiful natural setting, it will also be a source of inspiration for the artists of tomorrow and a site of education for young and old alike.
The Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Center will be a worthy tribute to all that is great about our state and the arts, celebrating past, present, and future. I invite you to learn more and join in the founding of this landmark institution.
