Step into the spotlight. Support the arts in Mississippi.

Although Mississippi has a rich creative legacy, students throughout our state are growing up with less exposure to the arts.

Rural and urban areas alike are in need of more resources and instructors to pass on life-changing lessons in the arts to the next generation of Mississippians.

The MAX is a place where students and visitors of all ages can come to learn the life stories of Mississippi’s legends, see the rough creative process behind the polished work and pursue their own creative interests through hands-on workshops and educational events in every area of the arts: music, dance, drama, writing, visual arts and more.

Your support of The MAX helps accomplish our mission to showcase our legacy, honor our legends, and inspire the next generation of Mississippi artists. But its impact ripples well past our own walls: Because The MAX will steer our visitors to important sites throughout our state — from Tupelo’s Elvis, to Indianola’s B.B. King, to Pascagoula’s Jimmy Buffett, to Jackson’s Eudora Welty, to Ocean Springs’ Walter Anderson and beyond — your contribution to The MAX is felt in every part of Mississippi.

Every dollar invested in The MAX sends a message that we believe the arts are important to our state and vital to our future. Help us tell the world what Mississippians are capable of, and inspire the next generation of Mississippi legends.

The MAX Annual Fund

The MAX Annual Fund

The MAX offers an array of educational courses including ceramics, painting, dance, and acting. Partnerships with the community produced Earth's Bounty and The MAX present Night Market and the Meridian chapter of Empty Bowls. Amongst all our accomplishments thus far, we cherish the opportunity to show visitors the possibility of dreams becoming reality. As we end 2018 and enter 2019, we are especially excited to host The Jim Henson: Imagination Unlimited exhibition. We also have a plethora of programming planned. Please remember our annual fund and help be the first for many students to come!

Cash gifts may be designated in memory or in honor of a loved one. These memorial gifts are recognized in our quarterly newsletter, PLACE, and both donor and honoree receive a personal card in the mail. The MAX is honored to receive planned gifts from our greatest of friends and supporters through a partnership with the Community Foundation of East Mississippi.
