Film Screening: Girl Happy

In May we’re screening one of Elvis’s beach party films, Girl Happy (1965). The plot—A Chicago mobster hires a rock and roll singer (Elvis Presley) and his band to keep an eye on his daughter (Shelley Fabares) during Spring Break in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. “Boy sings; girls swoon.” Not rated, 1h 36 minutes. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy the film from the courtyard and lawn. Free and open to the public.
