“Take a little ride with me” is what Davis asks of you with Juke Joint Blues.
Ride to the outskirts of town to a place where the party is jumping, the whiskey is flowing, and the electric guitar is wailing over rusty vocals singing away the pain of the day. Listen as he summons the sounds of the ancestors in his music with songs such as “My Daddy Was a Blues Man,” and feel the pain of love and heartbreak in tracks like “Pride and Joy” and “Don’t’ cha Do Me This Way.” The songs selections keep the juke joint jumping and the party going with additional songs such as: “Rooster Juice,” “Po Boy Chile,” and “Choo Choo.” The album will keep listeners reminiscing of the days of the good times at the hole in the wall and the juke.
