John Jennings: Build Your World Opening Day
Join us for the opening day of John Jennings: Build Your World, a new exhibition that explores the extraordinary storytelling and world-building of John Jennings — Mississippi native, NYTimes bestselling graphic novelist, Harvard Fellow, and Hugo- and Eisner Award-winning artist.
Guests are invited to experience the exhibition as a living space that sparks reflection, joy, and imagination through visual art, music, movement, conversation, and hands-on activities.

11 am: Artist talk + guided tour
12:30 pm: krump Performance
2 pm: Artist talk + guided tour
11 am-2 pm: Build Your World art station with Justin Ransburg
All events are free with museum admission ($14 adults, $8 youth, and free to children under 5 years of age, educators, or MAX members).
In John Jennings: Build Your World, Jennings’s groundbreaking work in Afrofuturism, folklore, and comics is brought to life through multiple creative projects, including Silver Surfer: Ghost Light (Marvel). With work featured at The MET and appearances on CBS Sunday Morning and multiple Marvel documentaries, Jennings is a rock star in the world of comics.
