Wolfe Studio 80th Anniversary Celebration at The MAX

Celebrate the art, history, and creative legacy of Wolfe Studio with an 80th Anniversary Experience at The MAX on Saturday, August 22, featuring Bebe Wolfe and special guests.

Founded in Jackson, Mississippi, by visual arts pioneers Karl and Mildred Nungester Wolfe, the studio is known for its ceramic birds, creatures, and nativity sets—all hand-painted, with each figure unique. Now supplying a third generation of collectors under the leadership of the Wolfes’ daughter, Bebe, and her husband, David Weidemann, Wolfe Studio has grown from a two-person operation into a collective of roughly a dozen artists.

The 80th Anniversary Experience at The MAX boasts a full day of activities, including meditation, coffee and art, engaging conversations, and a special Wolfe Bird Show & Tell for collectors.

Schedule of Activities:
9 am: Morning Meditation with Bebe & Beth Herzig, Wolfe Community Meditation Organizer (Upstairs terrace)

10 am: Coffee with Bebe: The History & Legacy (Upstairs exhibits)

11 am-2 pm: Come & Go Printmaking with Wendy Eddleman-Cooper, multidisciplinary artist (3D Studio)
Slip Casting Demo with Sarah Teasley, Wolfe Studio Manager (2D Studio)
Plus, bring your favorite Wolfe figurines and share your story for The Wolfe Creative Legacy Archive

2:30 pm: Conversation with Bebe & Jason Bouldin, portraitist (Alexander Family Church Gallery)

4 pm: Exhibition Reception (Outside the Alexander Family Church Gallery)
