Office Manager
The Office Manager for the Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience (The MAX) is responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective administrative operations of the organization. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Office Manager is responsible for:
Office Management
- Maintains CRM database, entering memberships and donations, and tracking pledges
- Coordinates mailings for member renewals and other communications, including managing all incoming and outgoing mail and the automated mailing system.
- Inventories, tracks, and orders administrative needs such as office supplies, coordinating with third-party vendors as needed, e.g., copier maintenance, etc.
- Creates and maintains online accounts, such as Amazon, iTunes, FedEx, Uline, etc.
- Provides additional support for major projects, including annual audit, annual campaigns, and special events.
Stakeholder + Board Relations
- Serves as liaison between The MAX and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including artists, institutional partners, members, funders, board, and staff.
- Organizes and coordinates reports and other materials for board and committee meetings
- Serves as recording secretary, taking minutes for official meetings, manages meeting schedules, and coordinates logistics for board and committee meetings.
- Supports recruitment for the board, committee, staff, and potential donors.
Executive Assistant Support for Leadership Team
- Tracks and reports indicators of organizational success monthly, or as directed, related to attendance, membership and renewals, expenditures, store sales, etc.
- Coordinates schedules, communications, and projects on behalf of the CEO as directed.
- Provides support to the leadership team and organizational workgroups.
- Assists with travel coordination, expense reports, and other administrative duties.
Schedule and Mode
The position is full-time, in-person, based at The MAX in downtown Meridian. As a community
hub, The MAX regularly has events and programs on nights and weekends that the office manager will be asked to support, from time to time.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of administrative experience in a fast-paced environment and is highly self-motivated, curious, and collaborative.
- A key skill is the ability to manage competing priorities while sustaining a high level of
- professionalism. The office manager must be able to uphold the strictest levels of confidentiality and trust.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products and experience with and proven ability to learn third-party
CRM databases. Proficiency in QuickBooks is a plus.
Compensation
Depending upon experience, the salary range is $40-$55k. Full-time, exempt positions at The MAX receive a competitive benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance, a cell phone stipend, and an optional retirement plan.

Fund Development Director/Manager
The Development Director/Manager will lead and execute the fundraising strategy for the Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience (The MAX). Reporting directly to the President + CEO, this position is responsible for cultivating relationships with donors, securing major gifts, and overseeing all aspects of fundraising initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for arts and culture and a proven track record of driving revenue growth in nonprofit organizations.
Essential Duties
Fundraising Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement a comprehensive development plan to meet annual revenue goals, with input from MAX leadership team.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with and gifts from individual donors, corporate sponsors, government, and foundation sources.
- Develop and manage planned giving and endowment strategies.
Donor Cultivation & Stewardship
- Work directly with The MAX president and CEO, leveraging their relationships and best use of their time to be most effective in the fundraising process.
- Provide direction and management for the The MAX’s membership program, ensuring regular, meaningful donor engagement.
- Develop tailored donor strategies, proposals and stewardship reports.
- Plan and coordinate board and volunteer solicitations and donor outreach.
Grant Writing & Reporting
- Identify and apply for relevant grants from private foundations and government agencies.
- Track and report grant activities, ensuring compliance and timely reporting.
Special Events Management
- Plan and lead fundraising events, working closely with staff and empowering volunteers.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events and maximize participation.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Collaborate with the President + CEO, board members, and staff to align fundraising goals with the organization’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Manage and mentor staff and volunteers involved in fund development.
- Create tools to empower and facilitate solicitation by board, staff, and volunteers.
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain donor database to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
- Track and analyze fundraising metrics to evaluate progress and inform future strategies.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Arts Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, preferably in the arts or cultural sector. This can include focused volunteer service.
- Proven track record of securing major gifts and meeting/exceeding fundraising goals.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with donors, board members, and staff.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with donor database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, DonorPerfect, Versai).
- Knowledge of the philanthropic community and trends in fundraising, particularly in arts and education.
- Passion for the arts and the mission of The MAX.
Compensation

Visitor Services Associates (Full or Part Time)
The Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience (The MAX) is seeking experienced, reliable, and task-oriented individuals to provide excellent customer service to patrons of The MAX. The part-time Visitor Services Associates will be responsible for selling tickets and memberships at the Admissions Desk as well as selling merchandise in the Museum Store.
Essential Functions
- Provide a welcoming environment and excellent customer service to patrons.
- Sell tickets and memberships and other educational services.
- Process retail sales and complete cash register transactions.
- Use point of sale (POS) software to sell tickets and merchandise, look up inventory, and balance cash drawers at end of shift.
- Answer phones and questions in a knowledgeable and friendly manner.
- Respond in a friendly manner to visitor complaints and concerns.
- Assist Manager with monitoring merchandise inventory, ticketing, stocking shelves, and taking care of other supplies and equipment.
- Have ability to be trained for other related functions.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two or more years of experience in retail or customer services/guest services
- Experience in cash handling and working with complex ticketing systems is highly desired.
- Ability to orient group tours and school tours and speak in front of large groups
- Responsibility, friendliness, proper grooming, and honesty in handling cash and credit transactions
- Availability to work a part-time, flexible schedule
- Ability to lift 30 pounds and stand for long periods of time

Maintenance Technician + Security Guard
The position of Security and Event Support requires a reliable individual who provides security and event setup and teardown services for the Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience (The MAX). This includes all MAX properties (interior and exterior) to provide a safe, secure and clean environment.
This position reports directly to the Chief of Security.
