March 23 – July 11
Walter Inglis Anderson’s great-grandson Matt Stebly has put his mark on the art world through tattooing. Stebly’s individual style is inspired by the talents of his family, his natural environment, and the work of other coastal artists. He also paints and draws, often using tattoo ink as pigment. The exhibit includes equipment used in tattooing and a look back at the history of the practice in our area, dating back centuries. It offers a great family story, an educational experience, as well as an inside look at the world of tattooing and at someone who is celebrating his own creativity on canvas and on skin. On display March 23–July 10, 2021. Free with museum admission.
Organized by The Walter Anderson Museum of Art.
