Jimmie Rodgers Festival – The Famous Jimmie Rodgers Talent Competition
97OKK presents the 71st Annual Jimmie Rodgers Singer/Songwriter Competition Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience (The MAX) from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Royal Horses will be performing after the talent competition.
Registration is open now and ends on April 30. The voting period opens May 1 and ends May 8. There is a Youth Division (age 10 – 17 years), Adult Division (18 years and older), and a new Jimmie Rogers Cover category.
Upload a video below of you singing. Songs can be done live or with an accompaniment track. Original songs will receive extra points during the live portion of our competition. Video can range from being filmed with a cell phone to a full produced video. A parent/guardian over 18 needs to enter in order to submit a video to the youth category.
PRIZES:
- Adult Division – Professional headshots by Revere Photography, a guitar provided by DC Guitar Studio, recording studio time provided by the MAX, and $1,000 cash.
- Youth Division – Professional headshots by Revere Photography, a guitar provided by DC Guitar Studio, recording studio time provided by the MAX, and $500 cash.
- Jimmie Rogers Cover – Professional headshots by Revere Photography, recording studio time provided by Blue Sky Studios in Jackson, MS, and $500 cash.
- In addition to the prizes listed above, the first-place winner of the adult division will get to open the Saturday, May 18th, 2024 night show for the Jimmie Rodgers Festival (performance time to be determined).
