MPSD Festival of the Arts

A vibrant celebration of the creativity, talent, and expression of students at the Meridian Public School District will take place at the district’s second annual Festival of the Arts.
Set for Thursday, April 24, from 4-8 p.m., at The MAX, performances will begin at 5:30 pm.
This free community event will showcase the artistic achievements of students across all areas of the arts, including visual art, choir, dance, theater, culinary arts, piano, band, media arts, and more. Attendees will enjoy an engaging evening of performances, exhibits, and demonstrations that highlight the depth of talent within the Meridian Public School District.
“We are excited to once again celebrate the diverse talents of our students and to share their hard work and passion with the community,” MPSD District Arts Director Antonio Altman said. “The Festival of the Arts is an important part of our commitment to arts education and creative expression.”
The event is a collaborative effort presented by the Meridian Public School District in partnership with The MAX and Any Given Child Meridian, which work together to ensure equitable access to the arts for all students in Meridian.
“Inspiring young people to engage in the arts is core to our mission, and incorporating arts into the classroom is a proven strategy to increase attendance and improve academic performance,” The MAX’s president and CEO Penny Kemp said. “We applaud MPSD for their efforts and are honored to highlight these students and their artistic pursuits as we leverage the arts to support educational initiatives and build a stronger community.”
