Walk of Fame Stars

The excitement begins even before you walk through our doors.

Follow our Hollywood-style Walk of Fame from the MSU Riley Center all the way to THE MAX to count the stars and see how many of your favorite artists, writers and performers you can spot along the way.

Since the Walk of Fame was unveiled on February 15, 2009, stars like Jimmie Rodgers, Sela Ward, B. B. King, Marty Stuart, William Faulkner, Morgan Freeman, Walter Anderson, Mac McAnally, Hartley Peavey, Elvis Presley, Tennessee Williams and others have been honored to date. New Walk of Fame stars will continue to be added.

Does your favorite Mississippi arts and entertainment star deserve a place in The Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience Walk of Fame? Let us know. Nominations are taken every year and considered based on our Nomination Procedures and Guidelines. New star additions are publicly announced along with details about the installation ceremony.

December 16, 2017 Walk of Fame Presentation

On December 16, 2017, six more stars will be unveiled. The new sidewalk stars will commemorate legal thriller author and activist John Grisham, inventor and screenwriter-filmmaker Jim Henson, blues singer-songwriter and musician Robert Johnson, living legend and opera soprano Leontyne Price, blues singer and musician Muddy Waters, and author and poet Richard Wright. Family and representatives of the six honorees will be in attendance. The presentation will take place at 1:30 pm across from Dumont Plaza in downtown Meridian. This event is free and open to the public.
