Success Programs 2023                                                                                                                    Success Programs are weeklong immersive programs for select Mississippi high school juniors and seniors that provide them with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from celebrities and seasoned industry professionals how to navigate their chosen creative industry. Through private and public funding, The MAX offers these programs at no cost to the students, regardless of socioeconomic background.

Sound of Success | June 5–10
The program will introduce students to professional mentors who provide invaluable insight into the music industry.  Instruction includes not only improved music skill and technique but also professional practices and character building and discussions of various jobs available within the industry.

Write for Success | July 10–15                                                                                                                 The program will introduce students to professional mentors who provide invaluable insight into the writing/literature industry.  Instruction includes not only improved writing skill and technique but also professional practices and character building and discussions of various jobs available within the industry.

MAXCamps, Ages 8-12                                                                                                                 Stop the "Summer Slide" with us at The MAX's arts-based summer camp! Ms. Paige Anderson, an accomplished and innovative teacher in the Lauderdale County School District, will be leading the students in five days of interactive and dynamic lessons and activities that reinforce the curricular standards for this age group. Your child will experience the themes of The MAX in ways they will remember for years to come! Our MAXCamps will be held on July 17th-21st

Weekly rate: $200 Members | $225 Non-Members

Daily rate: $40/day Members | $45/day Non-Members

Mini Maestros, Ages 5 and Under
Mini Maestros uses drama, music, and art to connect children with the mission of The MAX and engage them in activities that nurture early childhood development. This program occurs every first and third Thursday from 10:30-11:30 am and is free for children 5 and under and their caregivers. Check our Calendar of Events for more information.

MAXCreates, Ages 10–15
MAXCreates workshops for ages 10–15 are held the first Tuesday of every month from 5:30-7:00 pm Each session is designed and led by a museum educator to introduce participants to different art forms and encourage the formation of creative friendships. MAXCreates is free and open to the public. Registration required.

Audio Engineer Camp, Ages 13–18
Audio Engineer Camp for ages 13–18 is a week long camp starting Tuesday, June 27th through Friday, June 30th. Participants will get a hands-on experience in the Governor's Recording Studio learning the fundamentals of recorded sound waves to signal flow, effects, and EQ to mixing and mastering music. $100 members | $115 Non-Members ($10 off if registered by June 16th). Make + Take, All Ages
As part of The MAX experience, from 10:00 am-noon on the first Saturday of each month, youths and families engage with The MAX exhibit themes through these 30-minute creative workshops. Each Make + Take is designed by a licensed educator and is adaptable for various ages and ability levels. Check our Calendar of Events for more information.

MAXStudio, Adults
MAXStudio offers painting and pottery classes for adults; and as a membership benefit, opens the pottery studio to members every Tuesday and Thursday from 11 am-2 pm for a monthly charge.
