Swine and Dine Fundraiser

Thurdsay, November 11

The event featuring award-winning chef Cole Ellis is a white tablecloth whole-hog barbecue dinner with live music.

Ellis is the owner of Delta Meat Market and Bar Fontaine in Cleveland, Mississippi; he was a semifinalist for the James Beard Award “Best Chef South” in 2017, was listed as #3 in Southern Living’s Best Chefs of the South in 2019, and has been featured nationally in publications such as Bon Appetit, Southern Living, Delta Magazine, and Garden & Gun.

Homeplace Pastures in Como, Mississippi, has graciously donated the hog for the event to be prepared and curated by Ellis. Mitchell Distributing has provided the beer for the event.

Swine & Dine is the first major fall fundraising event for The MAX and will benefit our Success Programs (Sound of Success, Write for Success, Dance for Success, etc.) for Mississippi high school juniors and seniors. These programs are week-long immersive, intensive workshops led by industry professionals and celebrities that teach students how to navigate creative industries and help them improve and hone their talents. The programs are open to high school students who are nominated by their teachers and chosen by committee. These students come from many different socioeconomic backgrounds, and the funds raised by Swine & Dine will allow The MAX to continue offering these programs at no cost to the selected students.

This year’s event will be held at The Citizens National Bank Courtyard at The MAX beginning at 5 pm on Thursday, November 11.

Tickets are $45 members, $55 non-members, and $2000 tables for eight.
